Devil’s Backbone Vienna Lager

We picked up another offering from this Virginia brewery, and this one didn’t disappoint. Its amber color and yeasty aroma with clove and citrus underpinnings promise a good example of this milder style brew that pours with a good sudsy head. Grain and caramel are first on the palate, followed by a light corn backbone and a hint of spice for perfect balance. Easy drinking at 5.2 percent ABV, this brew offers a medium finish and lively carbonation, making it one we’ll return to as soon as summer’s heat arrives.
